Paraquadrula irregularis Wallich, 1836
Paraquadrula irregularis; a rhizopod that builts its shell out of square-shaped calcium cabonate (calcite) platelets. Because of the birefringence of calcite the platelets appear in several grey tones when viewed under the DIC-microscope.
Paraquadrula irregularis; same specimen, different part of the shell.
